Ege Baş, Board Member of Tekbaş Automotive, stated that the automotive sector in Turkey is growing and that the vehicle fleet offers significant opportunities to the used car sector.
Baş evaluated the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) June motor vehicle statistics.
Baş noted that the number of vehicles registered in traffic exceeded 34.5 million, stating that this situation maintains the growth of the automotive sector and offers significant opportunities to the used car sector.
It was noted that the share of motorcycles in the total vehicle fleet reached 21.5%. Baş said, "Rising transportation costs, the need for urban mobility, and the growth of the e-commerce ecosystem are rapidly increasing motorcycle usage, in particular. The growth in the car fleet also shows that the used car market remains vibrant."
Baş emphasized that the increase in the number of vehicles has increased the need for reliable appraisal services.
As the vehicle fleet grows, the importance of after-sales services such as maintenance, service, insurance, and appraisal also increases proportionally. Especially in used vehicle transactions, it is of great importance for both buyers and sellers that consumers receive reliable appraisal services. In the coming period, with the widespread adoption of electric vehicles, the technological infrastructure of appraisal processes will need to be further strengthened. As a sector, we will continue to invest in this transformation and offer our customers the most reliable service.
