Operating in 47 countries, travel technology company BookingAgora introduced its next-generation B2B travel platform, developed after approximately two years of R&D and software work, to its airline partners at a special pre-launch event held in Istanbul. The event, held at Crowne Plaza Istanbul Florya by IHG, brought together industry representatives, marking a significant step for the company towards its international growth objectives with its new technology infrastructure.
Speaking at the opening of the program, Metin Kışçı, General Manager of Crowne Plaza Istanbul Florya by IHG, expressed his pleasure in hosting important stakeholders of the tourism sector at the same event and drew attention to the importance of industry collaborations.
The new platform covers the entire process from reservation to after-sales services
BookingAgora Co-founder Murat Kahraman stated that the developed platform is not just a technological renewal, but also forms one of the cornerstones of the company's long-term growth strategy.
"This project, which we have been working on for about two years, has been one of the most important investments shaping the future of BookingAgora. Our goal was not just to develop a faster reservation system. We have created a next-generation working infrastructure that brings together travel agencies and airlines in the same ecosystem, where all processes from reservation to after-sales services can be managed through a single platform. Today, we are happy to share this transformation with our airline partners for the first time."
Modern infrastructure will provide faster and integrated services
BookingAgora Co-founder Kadri Ciga explained the technical infrastructure and development process of the platform. Stating that NDC, API-based services, real-time data management, and dynamic pricing have become the fundamental standards of the industry in recent years, Ciga stated that they preferred to create a completely new technology platform instead of improving the existing system.
"Our platform is built on a modern and scalable software architecture. With the next-generation search engine, much higher performance is achieved, while the user experience has been significantly improved with real-time price and availability management. NDC and XML integrations have been reconfigured, and advanced filtering options, management screens, and reporting infrastructure have been created. Thanks to the new mobile-compatible interface, our users will experience a much faster and more efficient working experience."
Ciga stated that users will be able to compare different airlines more easily with the new platform, and that additional services such as baggage, seat selection, and meals can be purchased during or after the reservation, and that ticket changes, cancellations, and refunds can also be easily managed through a single platform. It was stated that the platform will also offer hotel, transfer, car rental, package tour, and visa services within the same ecosystem in the future.
New technology will support global growth
Murat Kahraman, stating that they currently operate in 47 countries, emphasized that the new infrastructure will accelerate the company's global growth.
"The new platform not only provides us with faster service but also gives us the capacity to manage much larger transaction volumes. This will allow us to open up to new markets faster, integrate more airlines into our system, and develop much stronger collaborations with our international partners."
Kahraman said that they aim to increase collaborations with NDC connections, global network carriers, low-cost airlines, and international travel agencies in the new era.
New revenue opportunities for airlines
Kadri Ciga stated that the developed system will also provide significant advantages to airlines, and that the platform supports the complete presentation of NDC content, more effective sales of Branded Fare products, and increased ancillary revenue.
"Thanks to real-time price accuracy, advanced after-sales management, and a robust integration infrastructure, the operational processes of both airlines and travel agencies will become much more efficient. We designed the technology not only for today's needs but also to support the future of the industry."
Targeting a globally growing Turkish brand
Speaking at the end of the event, Murat Kahraman stated that BookingAgora positions itself not just as a distribution channel, but as a technology partner supporting the digital transformation of the travel industry.
"We position ourselves not just as a distribution channel, but as a technology partner supporting the digital transformation of the travel industry. If we can contribute to the more efficient operation of our airlines, travel agencies, and all our business partners, we will consider it our greatest success."
Kahraman added that the company's goal is to create a Turkish travel technology brand that reaches more countries, brings together more airlines and travel agencies in the same ecosystem, and competes on a global scale, and that they design every technology developed to support the success of their business partners.
