The National Women's Volleyball Team became champions by defeating Brazil 3-1 in the 2026 FIVB Nations League (VNL). Following the final match played at the East Asian Games Dome in Macau, players Sinead Jack Kısal and Defne Başyolcu shared their joy of winning the cup.
In a statement to an AA reporter, Jack Kısal said, "Being able to achieve this with this group of players and our technical team is a very special feeling. I want to thank everyone for this moment. This success is the reward for the effort we put in throughout the summer. I believe all the teams that reached the final stage worked very hard. This victory also demonstrated the effort we put in and the struggle we showed throughout the summer."
Emphasizing that singing the National Anthem gave her great strength, Jack Kısal said, "I feel very strong when I sing the National Anthem. This championship is for the people of Turkey. I will always say this, Turkey will always be my home. I am very proud that I was able to learn the National Anthem. This is Turkey for you."
Defne Başyolcu, stating that experiencing a championship in her first season with the National Team was very special for her, said, "It's my first year with the National Team, my first championship, my first medal, and my first cup. I am truly very happy. It's impossible for me to describe how I feel. Experiencing this pride with my 'sisters' is a great joy for me. I am currently experiencing many emotions at once."
Thanking those who supported them, Başyolcu said, "It was a very good match. We never gave up. I can say 'to many more cups and medals.' We have started preparations for the European Championship, and I am sure we will do our best there too. We will continue our success. To many more medals and cups."
