CHP Netherlands Union President Murat Han Gedikli and its board members announced their collective resignation from the Republican People's Party (CHP) membership. In the statement, it was noted that the CHP Netherlands Union would continue its activities, but the political struggle would be carried on within a new political structure to be established under the leadership of CHP's elected Chairman Özgür Özel.

Speaking to Baba Ajans, Murat Han Gedikli stated that he had served for many years at various levels of the CHP in Turkey, from youth branches to Istanbul organizations, and that he continued to serve the party abroad in line with Atatürk's principles and revolutions.

"It's Not Possible to Fight with an Understanding Resistant to Change"

Explaining the reasons for the resignation decision, Gedikli stated that despite the election defeats CHP has experienced in recent years, a management approach resistant to change has persisted, and that it is no longer possible to continue the political struggle under the same structure.

Gedikli, also evaluating the developments following the "absolute nullity" decision within the CHP, stated that he does not accept the current administration, and leveled criticisms against former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his team.

"This is Not Abandoning the Ancestral Home"

Underlining that the mass resignation does not mean abandoning the fundamental values of the CHP, Gedikli used the following expressions:

"This step is not abandoning the ancestral home, but a struggle to uphold Atatürk's legacy."

CHP Netherlands Union to Continue Activities

Gedikli announced that he resigned from his CHP Headquarters membership, but the legal entity of the CHP Netherlands Union, operating under Dutch law, would continue its work with the current board of directors.

The statement emphasized that the political struggle would continue within a new political formation to be created together with CHP's elected Chairman Özgür Özel and presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu.

This development is considered a notable split for CHP organizations in Europe, and its impact on party structures abroad is expected to be closely monitored in the coming period.
