An unattended suitcase led to a major police operation at Nuremberg Central Station. According to the Nuremberg Federal Police Inspectorate, Deutsche Bahn reported a suspicious piece of luggage on a regional express train at platform 5 around 10:40 AM.

Federal police officers found a suitcase standing between two seats on the train. As its owner could not be found and the luggage was classified as potentially dangerous, police officers evacuated the train and cordoned off the area. They then requested assistance from the Federal Police's bomb disposal unit.

Experts examined the suitcase and determined it to be harmless. The Federal Police stated that after opening the suitcase, it was found to contain only clothes and everyday items.

The Nuremberg Federal Police Inspectorate issued an urgent appeal regarding this incident. Passengers should always pay attention to their luggage and keep it with them at all times. In addition to the risk of theft, forgotten luggage can lead to a police operation for which the individuals concerned may have to pay a fee. Furthermore, such incidents regularly cause significant disruptions for other passengers. This was also the case at Nuremberg Central Station.
