The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) announced the final inflation data for July for the Eurozone and the European Union (EU).
Accordingly, annual inflation in the Eurozone, which was 2.8 percent in June, climbed to 2.9 percent in July. Monthly inflation in July was 0.2 percent. In July of last year, annual inflation in the Eurozone stood at 2 percent.
In the preliminary data announced by Eurostat, annual inflation for July was also estimated at 2.9 percent, and monthly inflation at 0.2 percent.
In the Eurozone, core inflation in July was measured at 2.5 percent on an annual basis, and 0 percent on a monthly basis.
In July, annual inflation for energy products was 10.3 percent, for services 3.3 percent, for food, alcohol, and tobacco products 1.2 percent, and for non-energy industrial goods 0.9 percent.
In the EU, annual inflation, which was 2.9 percent in June, rose to 3 percent in July. Monthly inflation in the EU was 0.2 percent.
In July, inflation compared to the same month last year was calculated as 2.8 percent in Germany, 2.4 percent in France, 2.9 percent in Italy, and 3.9 percent in Spain.
