The Global Journalists Council (KGK), with representatives in 88 countries and 81 provinces, will host various meetings, workshops, exhibitions, and award ceremonies domestically and internationally in September, October, and November.
The KGK Board of Directors will first convene in Sakarya from September 11-13 for its regular September meeting. Following Sakarya, with meetings to be held successively in Kırşehir, Afyonkarahisar, London, and Alanya, the 2026 event calendar will be completed.
BOARD MEETING IN SAKARYA
Hosted by Güven Hasbaş, Sakarya KGK provincial representative and Head of the KGK Digital Media Council, the KGK Board members who will gather in Sakarya will discuss the council's activities and projects it is a stakeholder in, as well as issues on the sector's agenda. They will also meet with Sakarya's senior executives and journalists.
AHILIK FESTIVAL IN KIRŞEHİR
The council's next stop after Sakarya will be Kırşehir, the hometown of Neşet Ertaş and the city of Ahi brotherhood. Within the scope of the event to be held from September 14-17, hosted by Murat Sürmeli, Kırşehir KGK provincial representative, KGK members arriving in the city will participate in the Ahilik Week celebrations organized by the Kırşehir Governorship. KGK members, who will also get to know Kırşehir's history and culture, will also take a trip to the Kaman district.
LOCAL MEDIA MEETING IN AFYON
The KGK Local Media Council, with the participation of provincial representatives, will meet in Afyonkarahisar, the city of victories, from September 19-21 to hold a consultation meeting. At the meeting, hosted by Mehmet Emin Güzbey, Afyonkarahisar KGK Provincial Representative, historical, touristic, gastronomic, and cultural tours will also be conducted in the city, and senior executives will be visited. Furthermore, local media representatives will gather for an open-ended meeting to consult on the problems and solutions of the sector. The decisions and recommendations made will be announced to the public via a joint statement to be published.
FRIENDSHIP MEETING IN LONDON
The Global Journalists Council, which held the 1st International Media Friendship Awards ceremony and exhibition last year in New York, USA, will hold the second one this year in London, the capital of England, between September 29 and October 2. Within the framework of the event, which will be held under the auspices of the Turkish Embassy in London and hosted by Vatan Öz, KGK Representative for the United Kingdom, an award ceremony will be held at the famous Arrundel House, where Turkish and British journalists will be honored, and a documentary exhibition on 'UK Headlines in the Turkish Press and Historical Diplomatic Documents' will also be opened. The KGK delegation will also hold important meetings in London. The KGK delegation, which will meet with Turkish NGOs operating in London, will also visit parliamentarians of Turkish and Muslim origin, as well as barons and baronesses, at the British Parliament building.
6TH GLOBAL MEDIA MEETING
The 6th Global Media Meeting, which will again be held in Alanya this year, will be the last event of the year. Within the scope of the meeting, which will take place in Alanya from November 6-10 with the participation of KGK provincial and country representatives and elected council members, in addition to various panels and workshops on media topics, a workshop will also be held on the social mediation project in combating social violence, in which the council is a stakeholder. The meeting, which is expected to be attended by journalists and statesmen from approximately 30 countries, as well as from all over Turkey, will conclude with the 6th Global Achievement Awards and İsmail Gaspıralı Awards ceremony.
