5 Killed in Antalya Crash Laid to Rest in Konya

The funerals of 5 people who lost their lives in an accident in Antalya's Manavgat district were held in their hometown, Konya.

The bodies of Erol Arslan (48), Ayla Arslan (46), İlayda Arslan (15), Ebrar Arslan (12), and Metehan Uğurlu (4), all from the same family, were brought to Konya after procedures in Antalya. They were laid to rest at Aliyenler Cemetery in the central Karatay district, following the funeral prayer performed after the noon prayer. Relatives of the Arslan and Uğurlu families shed tears at the ceremony.

It was learned that Ebrar Arslan, one of the deceased, would have had her birthday two days later.

The accident occurred yesterday in Beydiğin Neighborhood on the Taşağıl-Derebucak Road. A minivan with license plate 42 AKL 36, driven by Erol Arslan (48), went out of control and rolled into a ravine. In the accident, driver Erol Arslan and passengers Ayla Arslan (46), İlayda Arslan (15), Ebrar Arslan (12), and Metehan Uğurlu (4) lost their lives. Injured Abdurrahman (28) and Hatice Uğurlu (23) were taken to the hospital.
