Tomara Waterfall, one of the prominent tourism destinations in the Eastern Black Sea, offers visitors the chance to spend time immersed in nature.
Tomara Waterfall, located in Seydibaba village, Şiran district of Gümüşhane, is known locally as "kırk gözeler" (forty springs). The waterfall is formed by water emerging from 40 different points, cascading down from a height of 15 meters and merging.
Tomara Waterfall Nature Park is located 130 kilometers from the provincial center and 14 kilometers from the district center. Visitors can taste the water flowing from the springs and cool off by dipping their feet in the water at suitable spots.
Şiran Mayor Abdulbaki Kara stated that Tomara Waterfall is a significant tourism destination whose visitor numbers are increasing year by year.
Kara noted that interest in the waterfall has increased due to temperatures above seasonal norms. Mayor Kara said, "Almost every part of our Şiran has begun to gain value in terms of tourism. Most of our visitors come from within a roughly 200-kilometer radius. In addition to day-trippers from Sivas, Trabzon, Ordu, Giresun, Rize, Erzincan, Bayburt, and their respective districts, we also host tours organized by national tour companies."
Kara announced that the Tomara Waterfall Culture and Tourism Festival, last held in 2018, will take place this year on August 7-8.
Visitor Hüsniye Akçay stated that she saw the waterfall online, saying, "This place is very beautiful. We're glad we came. The air is also cool. I recommend it to everyone."
Ismail Fındık, who came to the city with his family, expressed that he really liked the nature in the region and was impressed by the scenery.
