The bodies of four members of the same family who drowned in the sea in Mersin's Tarsus district, where they had gone to cool off, have been buried.
Zehra Öztürk (39), her husband Savaş Öztürk (42), her sister Ceylan Dağaşan (30), who entered the sea yesterday in Kulak Neighborhood, and their nephew Halil Öztürk (16), whose lifeless body was recovered in the morning hours, lost their lives. The Öztürk couple's daughter, Fatma Öztürk (16), who was in danger of drowning, had been hospitalized.
The bodies of the four people who lost their lives were taken to Tarsus City Cemetery after procedures at the morgue. Family relatives, AK Party Mersin Deputy Hasan Ufuk Çakır, Tarsus District Governor Mehmet Ali Akyüz, District Police Chief Berat Günçiçek, District Gendarmerie Commander Major Mehmet Güler, AK Party Tarsus District Head Fevzi İnan, and many citizens attended the funeral prayer held there.
After the prayer led by Tarsus Mufti Murat Akçay, the bodies were buried in Sucular City Cemetery.
