Samet Bağcı, Deputy Chairman of the Grand Unity Party (BBP), evaluated the investigation into the death of Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, the founding Chairman of his party. Bağcı stated, "We absolutely did not and cannot call this an accident without clarifying the current evidence and resolving the question marks with concrete evidence."

Bağcı evaluated the investigation into Yazıcıoğlu and his delegation, who lost their lives in a helicopter crash on March 25, 2009, for an AA reporter.

The transfer of the investigation file from Kahramanmaraş to Ankara, at the initiative of Justice Minister Akın Gürlek and the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was found promising. Bağcı noted that they believe everyone with fault, error, negligence, or intent will be held accountable as the investigation deepens.

Samet Bağcı stated that there are numerous suspicions regarding the day of the incident. He emphasized that the incident cannot be accepted as an accident before the investigation is completed.

The presence of two F-16 and one F-4 type military aircraft in the region was revealed by the State Supervisory Council report and civil aviation radar records. Bağcı reminded that some individuals assigned to these aircraft were arrested as part of the judicial process.

Bağcı reiterated his words, "We absolutely did not and cannot call this an accident without clarifying the current evidence and resolving the question marks we mentioned with concrete evidence." He stated that there are many data points that substantiate the question marks.

Bağcı stated that the team that came to the scene to examine another crashed military helicopter removed and destroyed two critical parts from Yazıcıoğlu's helicopter. He noted that these parts cannot be accessed even today:

"In the trials held in Kahramanmaraş, they stated that they took these parts as souvenirs and lost, destroyed, or disposed of them. The same individuals were part of the team that went to assassinate Mr. President in Marmaris on the night of July 15. The destruction of existing evidence, incorrect information notes regarding search and rescue operations, and according to villagers and location determinations made that day, we are talking about an area narrowed down to one square kilometer by 10:30 PM, yet searches were conducted 40 kilometers away. When we look at this entire equation, this organization, a very systematic structure appears. Therefore, it is not possible for us to describe this as an accident. When we see this organization, can we say 'FETÖ is outside of this'? We cannot say it is possible. For this reason, it appears that one of the main cornerstones of this organization we are talking about is FETÖ."

Samet Bağcı stated that suspicions, findings, and concrete data have been in the file for years. He emphasized that a will to connect these pieces was needed. Bağcı commented, "Our Minister took the initiative at this point. If a will and initiative had not been shown, we would still be discussing these matters today, but without achieving any results. But at the point we have reached today, with the Minister's own statement and declaration, the arrests and detentions on suspicion of intentional killing within an organizational structure as part of this investigation, actually shed light on how far the incident will go for us."

Bağcı said, "We believe that the assassination, the incident, which we think international terrorist organizations like FETÖ used as a tool, can only be clarified by working hand-in-hand with the state, sharing information, and walking together with them. There is no other way or method. That is why we trust our state. Justice may be delayed, but it will find its place, even if late. Our state has currently evaluated all the suspicions and evidence regarding this matter as a systematic organization. It has started to do what is necessary, and we believe it will continue to do so."

BBP's Bağcı pointed out that there is serious information pollution regarding the process. He stated that for the integrity of the investigation, only the official statements of the Ministry of Justice, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici should be taken into account.

Drawing attention to the 17-year struggle to uncover the truth, Bağcı noted the following:

"There are reasons for this struggle. There are many concrete pieces of evidence and data that we have been stating for years. Our President, our Minister of Justice, our Chairman, all have shown a will to shed light on this process, and at the point we have reached, we are all together, on the same side, with our families and lawyers. With the struggle we will wage together within the framework of law, we will identify everyone who had a hand, involvement, intent, fault, error, or negligence in this matter, and bring them before the law to ensure that what is necessary is done."

Samet Bağcı stated that a few years ago, they had criminal law experts who were not part of the party management conduct an independent review of the file. He noted that they shared the report of this review, which lasted approximately 6 months, with the Ministry of Justice, the relevant public prosecutor's offices, and the then-Ministry of Interior.
