The animal population at Tarsus Nature Park in Mersin has increased with new births.
According to the Metropolitan Municipality's statement, many animals such as ponies, donkeys, gazelles, antelopes, horses, zebras, lemurs, hyenas, baboons, and spider monkeys gave birth during the year.
The offspring born in the park are being cared for under veterinary supervision.
Sibel Mazlum, veterinarian at Tarsus Nature Park, stated that the offspring have started meeting visitors. Mazlum said, "Every birth is a successful indicator both that our animals live in healthy conditions and of the effectiveness of the care, nutrition, and veterinary health services we provide."
Mazlum noted that the offspring are monitored 24 hours a day by experts. She added, "Successful births in some species are of great importance for the preservation of biological diversity. Citizens can observe our newborn offspring in environments suitable for their natural lives and have both an enjoyable and educational day."
