In a statement from the Haskovo Regional Fire Department, it was reported that a forest fire broke out yesterday in an area of approximately 10,000 decares between the villages of Dinevo, Lyubenovo, Malevo, and Krivo Pole, which are part of Haskovo city.

The statement reported that 14 fire brigades, as well as soldiers, forest rangers, and volunteers, were responding to the fire.

The Ministry of Defense announced that the fire started at an illegal landfill near Dinevo village, then spread to dry grass, bushes, and forested areas.

It was noted that the fire currently poses no threat to residential areas and that its cause is being investigated.

While fire brigades are responding to the fire that started yesterday afternoon in the western part of Trebevic for an unknown reason, mountain rescue and forest management teams are also participating in the firefighting efforts.

Officials noted that they expect the fire to be brought under control as soon as possible, but the difficult terrain is complicating the efforts.

While flames in the region reached the edge of the forested area, it was reported that the fire does not threaten residential areas or any structures.

Meanwhile, a fire in the city of Trebinje, located in the south of the country, is also being responded to.

Helicopters from the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina are also supporting the firefighting efforts in the region.
