Government Spokesperson Maud Bregeon made a statement regarding fuel aid to the press after the Council of Ministers meeting.

Spokesperson Bregeon signaled that the aid provided for approximately 4 months to the sectors most affected by the crisis, in response to the increase in fuel prices caused by the crisis in the Middle East, and which is set to end on August 31, may be extended.

Bregeon stated, "The government is working on renewing aid to the sectors that consume the most fuel and are most affected (by the crisis)."

In France, in response to the increase in fuel prices due to the war that began with US-Israeli attacks on Iran, the government had announced a 70 million euro aid package for the segments most affected by this increase in the fishing and agriculture sectors, including road transport.

Initially, it was stated that the aid would be "limited to April, sector-based, target-oriented, and gradual," but as the expected drop in prices did not occur, the duration of the implementation was extended at certain intervals.

The tension in the Strait of Hormuz, which enables the delivery of oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) production from the Middle East to world markets via the Gulf of Oman and the Indian Ocean at the mouth of the Persian Gulf, due to the war between the US-Israel and Iran, had led to a crisis in energy markets.
