Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar announced in a statement on his social media platform account for US-based company X that a Gripen-type fighter jet belonging to the Hungarian Defence Forces crashed near the city of Szolnok.

Magyar reported that the cause of the plane crash is not yet known, but the pilot survived by using the ejection seat.

Magyar, stating that an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident, noted that Defence Minister Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi was heading to the scene.

Peter Magyar noted that, according to initial findings, no one was injured in the incident and civilian infrastructure was not damaged.
