Minister Memişoğlu: 'Producing Health' Vision Launched

Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu stated that Turkey has transitioned to a production-oriented approach in healthcare, saying, "Turkey has focused on service rather than production in healthcare. You and we are implementing the 'Producing Health' approach for the first time."

According to a statement from the Ministry, Memişoğlu visited the Dokuz Eylül University Rectorship and the İzmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (İBG).

In his speech at İBG, Memişoğlu stated that this center is one of Turkey's most important research centers producing knowledge and technology in the field of health.

Memişoğlu stated that Turkey has a strong infrastructure and qualified human resources in healthcare, emphasizing that success in service delivery must be supported by production.

Memişoğlu defined these centers not just for doing science, but as centers where knowledge and research are conducted to say something new and produce something new in the world.

Memişoğlu emphasized that research centers should establish a sustainable ecosystem not only with funds but also with the knowledge they produce. The Minister stated, "Turkey has focused on service rather than production in healthcare. You and we are implementing the 'Producing Health' approach for the first time."

Memişoğlu emphasized that scientists are the most important force that will develop Turkey's health technology and health industry, underlining that they will continue to provide all kinds of support to researchers.

960 Public Hospitals Made Available to Researchers Through TÜSEB

Memişoğlu stated that the Turkish Health Institutes Presidency (TÜSEB) will stand by researchers in this process, saying, "Just say new things, produce new things."

Memişoğlu announced that the Ministry of Health and the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK) will support scientists in the process of turning research into products. Through TÜSEB, 960 public hospitals have been made available to researchers for clinical trials. Furthermore, a legal regulation has been implemented for the patient costs of clinical studies approved by TÜSEB to be covered by the Social Security Institution.

Memişoğlu stated that the 'Producing Health Portal' has been created to bring together researchers with investors, industrialists, and funders, adding that scientists can share the projects they develop through this platform.

Minister Memişoğlu stated, "You produce, and we will provide what you produce to the industry. If necessary, we will find industrialists and investors."

Memişoğlu pointed out that scientists should focus on research and production, not marketing or commercial processes, stating, "Scientists will not have economic concerns while working. Your job is to produce in the laboratory. It is our duty to establish that ecosystem."
