In Konya, 83-year-old Süleyman Kökkaya, an Alzheimer's patient, was placed in a rehabilitation center. His sister, Sultan Küçükfidancı, is staying at a nursing home on the same campus to support her brother.

Süleyman Kökkaya had been placed in the Dr. İsmail Işık Nursing Home Elderly Care and Rehabilitation Center 14 months ago due to Alzheimer's disease.

His 78-year-old sister, Sultan Küçükfidancı, who did not want to leave her brother alone, started staying on the same campus a month later.

The siblings meet at certain times of the day, supporting each other and spending enjoyable time together.

Sultan Küçükfidancı, who cannot walk due to old age, stated that being close to her brother makes her happy.

Küçükfidancı stated that she meets with her brother every day:

"When I learned my brother was staying at the nursing home, I came to be with him. I thought we could see each other easily. We love each other very much. We always reminisce about the old days. Our childhood years come to mind. When I go to my brother, he is overjoyed. When he sees me, he says, 'My Sultan has arrived.' I ask the staff to take me to my brother. I don't want to leave my brother's side for a moment. I am so happy when I see my brother. We don't want to be separated. Even when I come to the garden alone, he is always on my mind."

Küçükfidancı stated that she would continue to be by her brother's side for as long as she lives.

Arif Topal, Konya Provincial Director of Family and Social Services, noted that Sultan Küçükfidancı is doing everything in her power not to leave her brother alone.

Topal emphasized that it is his sister who makes Süleyman Kökkaya strong during this process. Topal stated, "We see the strength of family in these two siblings. This bond between the two siblings made us very happy. They try to get together at every opportunity."
