A 14-year-old Turkish citizen, reported to be carrying an object resembling a weapon, was seriously injured in the Schwabing district of Munich, Germany, after plainclothes police teams who arrived at the scene opened fire.

Police stated that the softair pistol in the youth's hand was difficult to distinguish from a real pistol. They also announced that the youth pointed the weapon at them despite warnings.

The seriously injured youth underwent surgery and his condition was reported to be stable. Police sources claimed that the youth acted as if he was loading the weapon and, despite warnings, raised it and turned it towards the police.

The public prosecutor's office launched a preliminary investigation into the incident. The police officer who fired the shot was considered a "witness" at this stage of the investigation.

An investigation was launched against the shot youth on the grounds of threatening police officers. It was stated that the youth came to Germany with his family in 2023 and his asylum application was rejected.
