Deniz Sapmaz made history as the first Turkish golfer to reach the final round at the European Women's Amateur Championship.

According to a statement from the Turkish Golf Federation, Sapmaz competed in the event organized by the European Golf Association (EGA) at the facility bearing the same name as the town of Allerum in Sweden.

In the event, which saw 144 athletes from 25 countries participate, Sapmaz entered the top 94 athletes after the first 36 holes. After 54 holes, she secured her place in the final round, which 60 people qualified for.

With this achievement, the 17-year-old Sapmaz marked a first for Turkish golf, finishing the championship in 43rd place.
