Businessman Hüseyin Erdoğan, who lives in Germany, donated a fire truck to Alaplı Municipality.

The fire truck, brought from Germany, was delivered to the municipality at a ceremony attended by Gelsenkirchen-Horst Mayor Joachim Gill of Germany, who signed a sister city protocol with Alaplı Municipality, and his accompanying delegation.

Alaplı Mayor Nuri Tekin, speaking at the ceremony held in front of Alaplı Municipality, thanked Hüseyin Erdoğan and the association executives in Germany for their donations.

Erdoğan stated that they have been in close communication with Alaplı Municipality for approximately 2 years. He said that they were first hosted in Alaplı, and then they hosted Mayor Tekin and his delegation in Germany.

Expressing his happiness at delivering the donated fire truck, Erdoğan noted: "At the same time, we facilitated the sister city relationship between Gelsenkirchen-Horst, where I live, and Alaplı Municipality. We also have joint project collaborations between the Western Black Sea Foundation, which we established in Germany, and Alaplı Municipality. I feel the people of Alaplı are very sincere and close to me. For this reason, I wanted to support the people of Alaplı."

At the ceremony, a sister city protocol was signed between Tekin and Joachim Gill. Mutual plaques and gifts were exchanged.

The ceremony was attended by Alaplı District Governor Selçuk Köksal, CHP Zonguldak Deputy Eylem Ertuğrul, Public Prosecutor Anıl Öztürk, protocol members, representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations, and citizens.
