As part of the 20th-anniversary events of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Investment Office, a reception titled "Investing in Türkiye: Celebrating 20 Years of Success" was held, hosted by the Turkish Embassy in Berlin.
At the event, attended by representatives of the German business community, commercial ties between the two countries, new incentives, and the vision for strategic partnerships were discussed.
Speaking at the reception, Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, President of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Investment Office, shared Türkiye's achievements in the field of international direct investments and its future vision.
Dağlıoğlu stated that the trade volume between Türkiye and Germany has exceeded 50 billion dollars, adding, "More than 8,600 German-capitalized companies operate in Türkiye. In the last 20 years, German companies' investments in our country have approached 15 billion dollars, while the total international investment stock has reached approximately 25 billion dollars."
Dağlıoğlu stated that German companies make valuable contributions to the production ecosystem and that the capital coming to Türkiye is permanent.

Dağlıoğlu stated that Türkiye has recorded an average annual growth of 5.3 percent since 2003, emphasizing that this performance is above the European, OECD, and world averages.
Dağlıoğlu stated that Türkiye's qualified and well-educated young workforce offers a strong value proposition for the international business community.
New tax exemptions and incentives for investors
Dağlıoğlu stated that Türkiye implements dynamic reform agendas in line with investor feedback and shared the details of the new incentive package.
He announced that global companies establishing qualified shared service centers meeting specified criteria will be granted corporate tax exemption and income tax withholding advantages.
The 50 percent tax reduction applied to companies engaged in cross-border and global trade will be increased to 100 percent with the new regulation.
The standard corporate tax rate of 25 percent in Türkiye will be 12.5 percent for manufacturing industry and agricultural production companies, with a 50 percent reduction.
Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu stated that the new era will be built on "technology partnership," adding, "Türkiye and Germany can form major partnerships to produce global champions in the field of technology."
Dağlıoğlu reminded of Türkiye's commitment to sustainability, renewable energy, and circular economy goals, inviting participants to COP31, which will be held in Antalya in November.
Treier: German companies' investments in Türkiye are a win-win opportunity
Volker Treier, Director of Foreign Trade at the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), emphasized that the economic partnership between Türkiye and Germany is a strong shield against global challenges.
Treier stated that German companies' investments in Türkiye offer a clear "win-win" model, providing high added value to the economies of both countries.
He stated that in an environment of fragile global supply chains and unfair competition, rule-based and fair trade conducted with Türkiye is of great importance.

Treier said that some decision-makers in Berlin had experienced shortcomings in economic policies in the past.
Therefore, Treier expressed his satisfaction at being able to work closely with Turkish institutions in Berlin, noting that politicians criticize companies' overseas investments, but they know these investments benefit both countries.
Volker Treier, DIHK Director of Foreign Trade, pointed out that Germany has lost its competitiveness due to high energy costs, emphasizing that companies investing in strategic countries like Türkiye helps them sustain their presence.
Treier stated that he has witnessed the cultural and historical ties with the Turkic world, adding, "In the business world, we also operate on this basis of sincerity and trust with our Turkish friends."
Treier extended his congratulations to Türkiye for COP31, to be held in Antalya in November, and the NATO Summit in Ankara, emphasizing that the climate crisis and geopolitical challenges can only be overcome through strong partnerships.
Treier stated that DIHK is responsible for the global network of bilateral chambers, adding that the German-Turkish Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Türkiye) makes significant contributions to economic relations between the two countries.
Treier emphasized that they are working for German companies to find the right partners in Türkiye and create added value for both countries, expressing his belief that relations will continue to deepen.

Türkiye's Berlin Ambassador Turan: Türkiye an inseparable part of European economy
Gökhan Turan, Türkiye's Ambassador to Berlin, stated that the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Investment Office has successfully implemented its vision of transforming Türkiye into a global investment hub.
Turan noted that the trade volume between the two countries will reach 55 billion euros by the end of 2025.
He emphasized that Türkiye is an attractive center for the German business community with its logistical advantages and dynamic economy.
Turan reminded that the 6th Term Meeting of the Türkiye-Germany Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) was successfully held, stating that the discussions reinforced the economic vision partnership.
Turan stated that agreements were reached in areas such as industry, defense industry, environment, visa processes, the modernization of the Customs Union, and tourism, adding that contacts at the foreign minister level have advanced bilateral relations.
Ambassador Turan touched upon the logistical and strategic advantages Türkiye offers to international investors, saying:
“Türkiye offers competitive shipping costs and alternative routes not only to European markets but also to emerging markets in the east and south. Türkiye provides long-term predictability, stability, and legal security for the German business community.”
Turan emphasized that Türkiye, with its young population of 87 million, an economic size of 1.6 trillion dollars, and high-tech infrastructure, is an inseparable part of the European economy, inviting European investors to evaluate the opportunities in Türkiye.
“As DHL Group, we will continue to trust Türkiye and grow our investments”
Mustafa Tonguç, Chairman of the Board and CEO of DHL Express Germany, stated that the DHL Group entered the Turkish market in 1981.
Tonguç stated that Türkiye is the fourth fastest-growing e-commerce market globally, growing by 20-30 percent annually, and explained that they benefited from the advantages Türkiye provided to investors during the opening process of their operations centers at Istanbul Airport.
Tonguç said that Türkiye's effective coordination and solution-oriented approach offered to investors is a significant advantage.
Tonguç reminded that as part of their growth strategies in Türkiye, they acquired MNG Kargo for 250 million euros in 2023 and restructured it as DHL eCommerce, stating that they use two large R&D centers in Türkiye as bases exporting technology to the entire region.
Tonguç added that as DHL Group, they will continue to trust Türkiye and grow their investments.
