A severe storm and heavy rainfall that swept across southern Germany caused numerous injuries, power outages, and serious disruptions to transport. While hundreds of emergency calls were made, especially in and around Nuremberg, floods and hail paralyzed life in Reutlingen, a city in the state of Baden-Württemberg.

According to information from the Nuremberg Fire Department, one person was seriously injured and hospitalized after being trapped under a fallen tree during the storm. Authorities announced that citizens were also trapped under fallen trees at different locations, with one to two people seriously injured and many others lightly injured so far.
