The collection and transfer of stray dogs to shelters in Edirne, Kırklareli, and Tekirdağ was welcomed by local residents. The dogs were placed in shelters after health checks and sterilization procedures.

Fatih Kıyga, President of the Edirne Village and Neighborhood Headmen Federation and Headman of Hatipköy, stated that the stray dog collection efforts were successfully implemented in villages. Under the coordination of the Edirne Governorship, Provincial Special Administration teams collect stray dogs based on headmen's reports and take them to shelters. Kıyga noted that health checks, sterilization, and feeding procedures are carried out in the shelters.

"Both our villagers and our headmen are very pleased with this work. It has been a good practice," said Kıyga, requesting the continuation of the work. He added that stray dogs were rapidly multiplying in villages and harming farmers' animals.

Ender Sar, headman of Avarız village, stated that approximately 30 stray dogs living in their village were taken to shelters by Provincial Special Administration teams. Sar said, "The number of dogs was very high and they were bothering people. We want our Governorship to continue this practice. We are receiving positive feedback from citizens. Attacks have decreased, and children can now go out and play freely."

Serdar Baliç, a resident of the village, also said that citizens who were afraid of dogs can now walk more comfortably in the streets.

In Kırklareli, too, stray animals collected from the city center, districts, towns, and villages are being taken to the Kırklareli Stray Animal Rehabilitation Area. Health checks, sterilization, and treatment procedures are carried out here.

İsmet Cebeci, headman of Asilbeyli village, stated that they were pleased with the collection of stray animals. Cebeci, who said that stray animals in the villages were collected by Kırklareli Provincial Special Administration teams, noted that the number of dogs in his village had significantly decreased.

Cebeci used the expressions, "The number of stray dogs was very high. They were attacking bicycles, motorcycles, and vehicles. The decision by our Governorship to collect stray animals pleased us. The number of dogs in our village has decreased considerably. Our citizens are very satisfied. When we see any stray dog, we report it, and the teams immediately come and take them."

Bekir Karazaim, another resident of the village, also stated that before the initiative, dogs roamed freely and bothered citizens. Karazaim said, "In the past, some of our citizens were injured as a result of dog attacks. We are very pleased now."

Umut Akbulut, a resident of Karadeniz Neighborhood in Tekirdağ, stated that the presence of stray dogs in the streets made the neighborhood residents uneasy. Akbulut said, "Children and women sometimes couldn't pass through areas with many dogs. After the dogs were collected, the streets became safer. This initiative was good for everyone."

Veysel Topçu, another resident of the neighborhood, also said that there were many stray dogs in the neighborhood in the past. Topçu used the expressions, "The dogs used to chase us and sometimes bite us. After they were collected, everyone felt relieved. We no longer have a problem with stray dogs in our neighborhood." He added that it is more appropriate for stray dogs to be in shelters.
