Mike Tullberg: Satisfied and Proud of My Team's Performance

Midtjylland head coach Mike Tullberg, whose team lost 1-0 to Beşiktaş in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League 2nd qualifying round, expressed his satisfaction with the result and his team's performance after the match.

Tullberg made statements at the press conference held after the match played at Tüpraş Stadium.

The Danish coach stated that they did not start the match well. Tullberg said, "We had a chance at the beginning of the match but couldn't capitalize on it. Then we received a red card. If the referee gave it on the field, we can say 'The red card is correct.' I am satisfied and proud of the team's performance. For a part of the match, we had to switch from a 4-4-1 to a 5-3-1. I think we contained Beşiktaş well after the system change. Beşiktaş couldn't convert important chances in the first half. We were a bit lucky. However, I am satisfied with the result and the team's performance."

Mike Tullberg emphasized that they are an experienced team in European competitions. Tullberg stated, "We know how to play in Europe. I have been in charge for 41 matches. I haven't lost by more than one goal. That's why I'm somewhat at ease with today's score. Of course, it would have been better if we had played 11 against 11, but circumstances unfolded this way. Beşiktaş fans create a very special atmosphere. I worked at Borussia Dortmund for 6 years. Dortmund also has very good fans. However, the power the fans give to the players here is truly special.
