Vezirköprü Leg of Turkey Offroad Championship to Start Tomorrow

The 4th leg of the PETLAS 2026 Turkey Offroad Championship will start tomorrow in Samsun's Vezirköprü district.

The event, which is included in the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) 2026 National Race Calendar, is organized by the Samsun Automobile Sports Club (SAMOSK). Samsun Governorship, Metropolitan Municipality, Vezirköprü District Governorship, and Vezirköprü Municipality are hosting the event.

In the Vezirköprü leg of the organization, 21 vehicles and 42 athletes representing 15 sports clubs from 17 provinces will take to the track. Athletes will compete for season points by battling in endurance and spectator stages for three days.

Before the races, a press conference was held at the Samsun Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Multi-Purpose Hall.

Samsun Deputy Governor Enver Hakan Zengince stated that Samsun is one of Turkey's important tourism cities with its sea, beaches, ski resort, thermal springs, deltas, bird sanctuary, archaeological sites, plateaus, and gastronomy.

Zengince stated that they were pleased to host the PETLAS Turkey Offroad Championship in Samsun, where the National Struggle began. He noted that the organization would make a significant contribution to the city's tourism and cultural promotion.

Zengince thanked all institutions and organizations that contributed to the organization of the event and wished success to the competitors.

Vezirköprü Mayor Murat Gül, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Necmi Çamaş, SAMOSK President Veli Küçüker, TOSFED Sports Board Member Metin Yılmaz, and athletes Yasemin Biber Toker and Gülten Toprak attended the meeting.
