Hail Damage in Samsun's Ladik: Fields Surveyed by Drone

Agricultural lands damaged by hail in Samsun's Ladik district were surveyed by drone.

The downpour that hit Ladik yesterday turned into hail in some areas. The hailfall caused extensive damage to crops in agricultural fields.

The damaged agricultural areas were recorded by drone.

Teams from the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry have begun damage assessment work in the agricultural areas affected by the hail.

İmdat Demir, President of the Ladik Chamber of Agriculture, and Ali Sukas, MHP Group Deputy Chairman of the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Council, inspected the damaged lands.

İmdat Demir, President of the Ladik Chamber of Agriculture, stated that the provincial and district directorates of agriculture and forestry are continuing their damage assessment efforts.

Demir emphasized that some farmers did not have TARSİM (agricultural insurance). "The necessary assessments have been made. Most farmers have TARSİM, but there are also those who do not. We trust our state. We believe that our state will provide the necessary seed aid and the required support for agricultural loan debts to Ziraat Bank," he stated.

İmdat Demir noted that 100% damage occurred in crops such as sunflower, wheat, barley, and canola. He added that a total of 12 neighborhoods were affected by the hail.

Ali Sukas, MHP Group Deputy Chairman of the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Council, stated that they would follow the process to ensure farmers' losses are compensated.
