A boat that experienced engine failure and started drifting in the Çanakkale Strait was rescued by teams from the Directorate General of Coastal Safety (KEGM).

The engines of the 8.5-meter boat, which was underway in the Strait, broke down off Kilitbahir. After the boat started drifting, the captain reported the situation to the Çanakkale Strait Vessel Traffic Services Directorate.

Upon the report, KEGM's "KIYEM-1" fast rescue boat was dispatched to the area.

The boat, with 9 people on board, was towed for repairs and safely moored at Eceabat Fishing Shelter.
