International Wooden Car Race in Rize: Turkey Wins

An Inter-Country Wooden Car Race was organized in Rize as part of the 15th International Bagpipe and Folk Dances Festival.

A total of 24 people participated in the race held in Konaktepe Neighborhood, Ardeşen district, in the men's and women's categories.

The race was held on a 300-meter track. Car tires were placed at dangerous points as a safety measure to prevent accidents. Participants fiercely competed, experiencing difficult moments from time to time.

Colombia came first in the women's category, while Turkey won in the men's.

Hakan Güven, Chairman of the Festival Committee, stated that they organized the festival with the participation of approximately 450 guests from 12 countries.

Güven stated that the festival featured colorful scenes. "It's very exciting. We are happy, we are promoting our province and districts. Guests came from very far away. They were amazed by Rize, our sea, and our plateaus. We are trying to host them in the best possible way and show them around for a week," he said.

Güven noted that they organized the race in two categories and selected male and female competitors from the participating countries.
