Stubble Fire in Edirne: 30 Decares of Farmland Destroyed

A fire broke out near the Edirne Police Department Shooting Range for an as-yet undetermined reason.

The flames that started in the grassy area quickly spread to a pine forest area and then to a stubble field.

During the fire, police officers from the Rapid Response Unit Directorate who were training at the shooting range reported the situation to the fire department. The teams initiated the initial intervention against the flames.

TOMA, forest management, and fire department teams also joined the rapidly growing fire. As a result of intense efforts, the fire was extinguished. In the incident, 30 decares of agricultural land were damaged.
