An unattended suitcase caused a major commotion at Nuremberg Central Station. Federal police evacuated a train and a platform, cordoning off the area.

According to a statement from the Nuremberg Federal Police Inspectorate, the large-scale police operation began due to an unattended suitcase. Deutsche Bahn detected suspicious luggage on a regional express train on platform 5 at 10:40 AM and reported the situation to the police.

Federal police teams found the unattended suitcase between two seats on the train. As its owner could not be identified and the luggage was considered a potential danger, the train was evacuated. After the area was cordoned off, the Federal Police's bomb disposal unit was called to the scene.

Experts examined the suitcase and determined it was harmless. The Federal Police announced that the suitcase contained only clothes and everyday items.

The Nuremberg Federal Police Inspectorate issued an important warning to passengers following this incident. It was emphasized that luggage should always be watched and kept with them. Forgotten luggage, in addition to the risk of theft, can lead to a costly police operation. This situation also causes significant disruptions for other passengers. The incident at Nuremberg Central Station served as an example of this.
