A 36-year-old man was subjected to a racist attack in Berlin-Friedrichshain during daylight hours. According to a police statement, a 57-year-old suspect repeatedly punched the 36-year-old victim in the face without warning on Saturday afternoon. It was stated that the assailant insulted the victim with racist remarks after the assault.

Police teams arriving at the scene identified the suspect, and the suspect was later released. The injured 36-year-old man refused medical intervention.

The investigation into the incident is being conducted by the State Security unit of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office.
