Police intervene in Palestine protest in Berlin: 2 detained

Numerous Palestine supporters gathered in Berlin's Ernst Reuter Platz to protest Israel's attacks on Gaza.

The demonstrators marched towards the city center. During the march, they carried Palestinian flags. They also displayed banners that read: "No alliance with genocide," "Injustice is never equivalent to peace," "Stop the genocide," "Gaza is the world's largest orphanage and largest children's cemetery," and "No one can say today that they knew nothing."

The activists chanted slogans such as "Zionists are fascists, they kill children and women," "Children are dying, Germany is behind it," "Child killer Israel," and "Israel burns children, Germany watches."

Police intervened when the protesters reached near Uhlandstrasse metro station. As a result of the intervention, at least two people were detained.

Despite the tension, the march continued. The demonstration ended at Wittenbergplatz.
