The "INS Drakon" submarine, manufactured in Kiel, Germany, has arrived in Israel. The submarine's arrival at Haifa Naval Base was celebrated with a military ceremony.

Defense Minister Yisrael Katz spoke at the ceremony. Katz asserted that the new submarine joining the navy is "an important message to everyone who tries to threaten them, especially the Tehran administration."

Minister Katz said that Israel "will continue to build capabilities to eliminate threats." He also threatened that "their enemies understand that distance provides them no immunity, neither in the air, nor on land, nor at sea."

With the "INS Drakon," manufactured by German ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS), the number of submarines in the Israeli military has risen to 6.

Security officials cited the strength of the Turkish Naval Forces. Turkey has 14 operational submarines; this number is expected to increase to 18 in the coming years. Following this situation, the Tel Aviv administration was reportedly advised to increase its submarine fleet to 8 with new acquisitions.
