Six Senses has opened its second property in Saudi Arabia, Six Senses AMAALA. Located on the Red Sea coast, in a protected area surrounded by desert, mangrove forests, lagoons, and coral reefs, the resort offers guests of the new wellness destination AMAALA a combination of nature, well-being, and sustainable tourism.

Nature-Harmonious Architecture

Located in AMAALA, which spans over 4,100 square kilometers of protected coastal area, the resort features 100 suites and villas, along with 25 branded residences. Inspired by traditional Saudi coastal architecture, the design was planned in harmony with the beaches, mangrove lagoons, and impressive rock plateau.

Neil Palmer, Operations Director at Six Senses, stated that the resort was designed with the understanding that guests can reconnect with themselves and nature, making well-being a natural part of the daily experience.

Wellness-Focused Accommodation

At the heart of the resort is a comprehensive wellness concept. The Six Senses Spa features a Longevity Center, Biohacking Recovery Lounge, Watsu pool, and Sound Dome, while the "Eat With Six Senses" nutrition program, architecture supporting sleep quality, personalized health consultations, yoga and fitness classes, retreat programs, cryotherapy, and PEMF therapy are also offered.

General Manager Bryce Seator stated that their goal is to ensure guests leave the property feeling better than when they arrived.

Healthy Gastronomy

The resort's restaurants embrace the "Eat With Six Senses" philosophy, preparing dishes with natural and fresh ingredients. Soraya restaurant offers Japanese and Latin American cuisine with Red Sea views, while Joud focuses on Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors. The Beach Shack, a coffee roastery, bakery, and a cooking school introducing Saudi cuisine, complete the gastronomic experience.

The property also implements a completely alcohol-free beverage concept, consisting of fermented drinks, herbal infusions, probiotic tonics, and special mocktails.

Sustainability at the Forefront

AMAALA, which aims to operate entirely on renewable energy, seeks to obtain LEED Platinum certification. The natural mangrove lagoon at the heart of the resort can be explored via wooden walkways.

Guests can participate in sustainability workshops at the Earth Lab; special programs like "Grow With Six Senses" for children and those introducing mangrove ecology are organized. Coral reefs, desert excursions, and the Corallium Marine Life Institute also offer nature-focused experiences.
