The July 15 martyrs were commemorated at a ceremony held at the Berlin Embassy. A message was conveyed that the fight against FETÖ would be continued with determination.
A commemoration ceremony was held in Berlin, the capital of Germany, hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Berlin, on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
Ambassadors from different countries, representatives of diplomatic missions, prominent figures of the Turkish community, and numerous guests attended the program.
Speaking at the ceremony, which began with a minute of silence for the martyrs and the recitation of the National Anthem, Turkey's Ambassador to Berlin Gökhan Turan emphasized that the coup attempt on July 15, 2016, was a bloody terrorist attack targeting not only the elected government but also Turkey's constitutional order, democracy, and national will.

July 15 is a Symbol of Upholding Democracy
Ambassador Turan reminded that 253 citizens were martyred and more than 2,000 people were injured in the coup attempt carried out by FETÖ. He stated that the unity and determination displayed by the Turkish nation that night set an example for the history of world democracy.
Turan stated that July 15 was not only the prevention of a coup but also a historical turning point where democracy, national will, and popular sovereignty were upheld, adding that this year's theme was determined as "Our Will, Our Victory."

FETÖ Poses a Threat to International Security as Well
Ambassador Turan, also touching upon FETÖ's international structure in his speech, stated that the organization operates under the guise of education, trade, and civil society. He added that it is involved in illegal activities that threaten public order in many countries.
Turan stated that FETÖ poses a serious security risk not only for Turkey but also for the democratic institutions of the countries where it operates, adding that significant blows have been dealt to the organization's structure in many countries thanks to international cooperation.

The Fight Will Continue with Determination
Turan stated that the Republic of Turkey continues its fight against all national and international threats, especially FETÖ, within the framework of international law, and emphasized that the death of the organization's leader, Fethullah Gülen, would not lead to any slackening in the struggle.
Turan stated that state institutions are resolutely continuing their efforts to fully uncover and neutralize FETÖ's domestic and international structure.

Documentary Screening and Photo Exhibition
The commemoration program concluded after prayers for the martyrs. As part of the event, participants watched a documentary depicting the events of the night of July 15 and visited a photo exhibition reflecting the struggle against the coup attempt.
