YTB President Turus: We Stand with Our Kin in Bulgaria

President of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) Abdulhadi Turus held talks in Bulgaria. Turus met with Ahmed Hasanov, the Grand Mufti of Bulgarian Muslims.

Turus and his accompanying delegation visited the Grand Muftiate. A meeting was held with Hasanov.

During the meeting, Turkey-Bulgaria relations were discussed. Areas of cooperation concerning education, culture, and kin communities were evaluated.

As part of his talks, Abdulhadi Turus also met with Mustafa Aliş Haci, President of the Supreme Islamic Council.

YTB President Turus made a statement to an Anadolu Agency reporter after the visit. Turus said that they continue to stand by kin and related communities in line with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's vision.

Turus expressed his pleasure at meeting with the Turkish community in Bulgaria. Turus stated, "We have various ongoing projects here in the fields of culture and education. Additionally, we are paying a congratulatory visit to our Grand Mufti Ahmed Hasanov, who was recently re-elected."

Turus also stated that they would participate in cultural events as part of his talks. He said, "We will meet with our kin in Sofia, Plovdiv, and Mestanlı. Our main goal is to continue to jointly support the projects of our kin in Bulgaria that will add value both to the country they live in and to the relations between Turkey and Bulgaria."

Turus also touched upon the Türkiye Scholarships program. He emphasized that the program is an important human resource investment not only for Bulgaria but for many countries.

Abdulhadi Turus noted that they offer opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral education at Turkey's distinguished universities. Turus conveyed the following:

"Türkiye Scholarships are one of Turkey's most important brand values. Through this program, we are training qualified human resources who will serve as a bridge between the two countries. We truly want our brothers and sisters in Bulgaria to apply for Türkiye Scholarships. Türkiye Scholarships are one of the most important tools that will strengthen the friendship and brotherhood between the two two countries. It is a system that will advance not only friendship and brotherhood but also commercial, economic, and cultural relations."

Turus and his delegation visited the buildings of the Sofia Higher Islamic Institute and the Sofia Imam Hatip High School. Information was gathered about the school's activities.
