Body of Missing Salih Arslantaş Found in Antalya

The body of Salih Arslantaş (36), who went missing in Antalya's Serik district, was found in an irrigation canal after two days of search operations.

For Arslantaş, who had not been heard from since Wednesday evening in Burmahancı Neighborhood, his relatives filed a missing person report with the gendarmerie.

Gendarmerie teams launched an investigation upon the report. The teams found Arslantaş's motorcycle with license plate 07 CDF 839 and his mobile phone next to the irrigation canal in Burmahancı Neighborhood.

The possibility that Arslantaş might have fallen into the irrigation canal was considered. Following this, Gendarmerie Underwater Search and Rescue, AFAD, and IHH Search and Rescue teams were dispatched to the area.

During the divers' search efforts on the second day, his body was found in the irrigation canal under a bridge approximately 3 kilometers away from the point where Arslantaş was thought to have disappeared.

Arslantaş's body was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy after the public prosecutor's examination.

Meanwhile, it was stated that on the day he disappeared, Arslantaş entered the irrigation canal with 3 friends to cool off. It was learned that he continued swimming for a while after his friends left.
