Penzberg Municipality in the German state of Bavaria has also included Friday prayer times on the information signs at the city entrances.

The yellow and purple signs, located at the entrances of many settlements across the country and showing the service times of Catholic and Protestant churches, have been expanded in Penzberg with a new initiative.

The municipality, by adding a stylized blue mosque symbol to these signs, has also started to display Friday prayer times for Muslims.

In a statement made on its social media account, Penzberg Municipality stated that the new signs, in addition to the service times of Catholic and Protestant churches, also include Friday prayers for the first time.

The statement included the expressions: "Diversity unites. Good coexistence begins with openness and encounter. Our doors are open to everyone, regardless of religion, origin, or worldview."

Benjamin İdriz, Imam of Penzberg Mosque, stated that the idea of including Friday prayers on the signs came up last autumn during the annual meeting of religious communities with the then-Mayor Stefan Korpan.

Imam İdriz expressed his satisfaction that the initiative was implemented during the term of the new Mayor, Thomas Kopf.
