Minister Uraloğlu: Yalova-Armutlu Road Opens Tomorrow, Travel Time Halved

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that with the Yalova-Armutlu road, which will be put into service tomorrow, travel time will decrease from 60 minutes to 30 minutes.

In a written statement, Minister Uraloğlu provided information regarding the works on the Yalova-Armutlu road.

Uraloğlu pointed out that with the completion of the project, the transportation standard will significantly increase on the Armutlu route, which is important for Yalova in terms of tourism, industry, and maritime. He stated that within the scope of the project, a 45-kilometer route connecting Yalova to Esenköy and Armutlu was constructed. Of this route, 2.5 kilometers were built as a divided road with hot bituminous mixture pavement, 10.7 kilometers, forming the Esenköy bypass, as a single road with hot bituminous mixture pavement, and 31.8 kilometers as a single road with surface dressing standard.

Uraloğlu also noted that within the scope of the project implemented in the Esenköy section of the Yalova-Armutlu road, 6 tunnels, 4 viaducts, 5 bridges, and 3 at-grade intersections were constructed.

Minister Uraloğlu stated the following:

"We will put the project into service tomorrow. We have reduced the Yalova-Armutlu travel time from 60 minutes to 30 minutes. Our citizens will have access to safer, faster, and more comfortable transportation. The project will not only increase transportation comfort but also make a significant contribution to the national economy. With the Yalova-Armutlu road, we will achieve an annual saving of 260 million lira, comprising 240 million lira from time and 20 million lira from fuel. Additionally, we will reduce carbon emissions by 900 tons per year."

Uraloğlu, drawing attention to the fact that Yalova has become one of the most important centers of the region with its increasing investments, developing shipyards, tourism potential, and industrial infrastructure in recent years, stated that the new road will both support economic activity and strengthen the region's transportation infrastructure.
