Severe Storm Hits Istanbul: Trees Toppled

The severe storm that hit Istanbul negatively affected daily life. Across the city, trees toppled, roofs were blown off, and vehicles sustained damage.

In Fatih Laleli, a tree fell onto the road due to strong winds, causing a brief disruption in traffic.

In Zeytinburnu Beştelsiz Neighborhood, the roof of a building collapsed. In Esenler Oruç Reis Neighborhood, strong winds blew off the roof of a building.

In Bahçelievler Kocasinan Neighborhood and Beyoğlu Okmeydanı, pieces torn from roofs were scattered onto the streets by the wind.

On Bahçelievler Çavuşpaşa Street, a fallen tree caused damage to a parked motorcycle and car. Also in Esenyurt's Kozapark Complex, strong winds caused damage to a building.

In Ümraniye, citizens struggled to walk on the road due to the strong winds. Motorcycle riders also faced difficulties while driving. Light rainfall was also observed in the district along with the wind.

In Beykoz Burunbahçe, citizens swimming in the sea were pushed away from the shore by the strong winds. Street vendors on the beach, however, experienced difficult moments due to a sandstorm.

In Küçükçekmece, Sarıyer, Gaziosmanpaşa, Sefaköy, Büyükçekmece, and Başakşehir, the dust cloud created by the wind reduced visibility. While drivers proceeded cautiously in traffic, the upper floors of high-rise buildings disappeared from view.

Following reports, fire, police, and municipal teams were dispatched to the areas. The teams' damage assessment and safety measure efforts are ongoing.
