Injured Owl Chick Found by Youth in Kars Undergoes Treatment

An owl chick found by young people in a rocky area of Kars's Sarıkamış district, unable to fly, has been taken under protection.

Young people walking in Bozat village noticed an owl chick lying motionless in a rocky area. The situation was reported to the Sarıkamış Allahuekber Mountains National Parks Chiefdom teams, affiliated with the Nature Conservation and National Parks (DKMP) Branch Directorate.

The owl chick, taken over by DKMP teams, was sent to Kafkas University Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center for treatment and rehabilitation.

Arda Turut, one of the young people, stated that he saw an owl unable to fly in the rocky area of the village. Turut said, "We found the bird stuck among the rocks, it couldn't fly. So we took it and handed it over to the national park officials. Hopefully, it will recover soon."
