Monkey Found on Street in Hatay Taken into Protection

A monkey found on the street in Hatay's Antakya district was taken into protection.

Citizens who noticed the monkey in Serinyol Neighborhood reported the situation to the authorities. Upon the report, teams from the Nature Conservation and National Parks Branch Directorate took action.

The monkey, caught with the support of Metropolitan Municipality and AFAD teams, was brought to the Hatay Nature Conservation and National Parks Branch Directorate.

It was stated that the monkey, which underwent a health check, would be sent to Tarsus Nature Park.

It was learned that the monkey slightly injured a person. An investigation has been launched into how it came to the region.
