Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar announced on his social media account that a Gripen-type fighter jet belonging to the Hungarian Defence Forces had crashed near the city of Szolnok.

Magyar stated that the cause of the crash was not yet known. He reported that the pilot had been rescued using the ejection seat.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident. It was noted that Defence Minister Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi had departed for the scene.

Prime Minister Peter Magyar noted that, according to initial findings, no one was injured in the incident and that civilian infrastructure was not damaged.
