The Schwaben Nord Police Department announced that an explosion had occurred near the train station in Augsburg. Due to the explosion, surrounding streets and public transport experienced disruptions.

The Augsburger Allgemeine newspaper reported that the explosion took place next to a bank on Bahnhof Street. The newspaper also stated that 2 people were injured in the incident.
