Rasim Özdenören Commemorated at Grave on 4th Death Anniversary

Rasim Özdenören, a master writer and intellectual and one of the prominent figures of Turkish literature, was commemorated at his grave in Mihrişah Valide Sultan Haziresi in Eyüpsultan on the 4th anniversary of his passing. The commemoration program, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, İlim Yayma Cemiyeti, and İz Yayıncılık, began with a recitation of the Holy Quran.

Speaking at the ceremony, AK Party MKYK Member Mahir Ünal stated that Özdenören left a significant impact on everyone with his works. Ünal said, "His book, 'Essays on Muslim Thought,' is a very valuable text for us, showing how Muslims should view events and life. He is 'The Man Who Grows Roses,' and thus he has captured our hearts. Those gathered here today bear witness that he was a good Muslim. This is one of the most important legacies he left us."

Ünal underlined that Özdenören was a person who knew the value of time. "Rasim Ağabey lived a beautiful life and departed from here. He never used idle words in his conversations. He left us all a good testament. The esteemed intellectual departed from us, concluding his story beautifully. Today, we live in a time when we need truth more than ever. The legacy Rasim Ağabey left us is particularly important in this regard."

Istanbul Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Hüseyin Keskin stated in a statement to an AA reporter that Rasim Özdenören was one of the important representatives of Turkish literature and intellectual life. Keskin said, "Özdenören is a writer who has enthroned himself in the hearts of millions in this country and left significant marks on all of us with his works. He produced important and immortal works in various fields of literature. Those gathered here today to commemorate him are also a sign of the legacy he left behind. May his soul rest in peace."

Eyüpsultan District Governor Dr. Arslan Yurt, President of the Turkish Manuscripts Institution Dr. Coşkun Yılmaz, İz Yayınları manager Eren Kahraman, and the master writer's wife Ayşe Özdenören also attended the ceremony.
