Public dissatisfaction with Chancellor Friedrich Merz continues in Germany. A new poll showed that 55 percent of citizens believe the Chancellor should resign.

According to the "Trendbarometer" poll conducted by Forsa for RTL/ntv television, 55 percent of participants wanted Merz to resign. 40 percent, however, expressed the opinion that he should continue in office.

The proportion of those satisfied with Merz's work was recorded at only 11 percent. Support for the Chancellor's resignation was strongest among voters in eastern Germany, and supporters of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) and The Left Party (Die Linke).

54 percent of poll participants believe that no political party can solve Germany's problems.
