Belarus Minister Rzhenkov: Trade with Kyrgyzstan to Hit $500M

Belarus Foreign Minister Maksim Rzhenkov announced that they aim to increase the trade volume with Kyrgyzstan to $500 million.

Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Belarus Foreign Minister Rzhenkov in the capital Bishkek.

Minister Rzhenkov stated that Belarus-Kyrgyzstan cooperation is ready to be elevated to a new level.

Rzhenkov stated that following the visit of Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin to Kyrgyzstan, they were tasked with increasing the trade volume between the two countries to at least $500 million. He emphasized that they would begin working on this target.

He recalled that at the business forum held in Bishkek in June, 20 commercial agreements and contracts worth approximately $5 million were signed with the participation of the heads of government of the two countries.

Rzhenkov described Kyrgyzstan's success in the United Nations and its temporary membership process as a historic victory. He stated that these efforts would strengthen the organization's institutional foundations and contribute to the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

He also added that Belarus would actively participate in the 6th World Nomad Games to be held in Kyrgyzstan.

Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Kulubaev, for his part, recalled that 27 documents have been signed between the two countries in various fields over the past two years. Kulubaev noted that the trade volume has doubled in the last three years, reaching $206 million.
