Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced the success of TÜBİTAK Science High School, which produced its first graduates this year, in the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS). Minister Kacır stated, "In YKS, 7 out of 84 graduates achieved 12 ranks in the top 100, and 32 achieved 58 ranks in the top 1000."
Kacır stated that the first graduates of the high school impressed with their achievements. The Minister used the expressions, "In YKS, 7 out of 84 graduates achieved 12 ranks in the top 100, and 32 achieved 58 ranks in the top 1000. Thanks to their successes in international science olympiads and project competitions, 6 students gained the right to directly enroll in university, while 16 students earned additional coefficient rights. Among the first graduates of the high school, the 15th place in Turkey in the numerical score type emerged, and the 6th place in Turkey in the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) was achieved."
It was highlighted that these results clearly demonstrate high achievement, despite being the school's first graduates.
Minister Kacır noted that students who achieved success in science olympiads and project competitions for 5 years are the pride of the school with their YKS ranks. Kacır made the assessment, "At TÜBİTAK Science High School, which we established in cooperation with our Ministry of National Education, leveraging TÜBİTAK's knowledge and experience in science and technology, we offer every student scholarship and dormitory facilities, the opportunity to take lessons from expert academic staff and use TÜBİTAK laboratories, foreign language education, and internship programs for scientific research. Beyond just establishing a science high school, we will continue to work to raise future scientists with the responsibility of building a new school of thought."
Top-Ranking Students
Among TÜBİTAK Science High School students, Aslıhan Buğa became 6th in Turkey with the score she received in the TYT session. In TYT rank distributions, 3 students succeeded in entering the top 100, 9 students in the top 500, and 22 students in the top 1000. Additionally, 50 students were in the top 5,000, 60 students in the top 10,000, and 70 students in the top 25,000.
Among the students, Deniz Tepe became 15th in Turkey in the numerical field. In the numerical success ranking, 3 students were in the top 100, 11 students in the top 500, and 23 students in the top 1000. 52 students entered the top 5,000, 61 into the top 10,000, and 67 into the top 25,000.
In the equally weighted distribution, 8 students were in the top 5,000, 34 students in the top 10,000, and 63 students in the top 25,000.
While 35 students received exam scores in the foreign language field, Deniz Tepe, who ranked 19th in Turkey, achieved the most successful rank in this field. In foreign language, 6 students made it into the top 100, and 13 students into the top 500.
Thanks to the ranks achieved in science olympiads, 17 students gained additional coefficient rights in the higher education entrance process. 4 of these students, thanks to their successes in international olympiads, gained the right to enroll in university without an exam, in addition to the additional coefficient.
Among the students, Aslıhan Buğa, Deniz Tepe, Tuana Gülpınar, Yağız Akbulut, Ahmet Emre Orak, Ahmet Karakaya, and Doruk Efe Kocaman achieved a total of 12 ranks in the top 100 in YKS.
Ahmet Emre Orak, Ahmet Karakaya, Ahmet Taner Özbay, Ali Osman Cihan, Aras İsmail Ünlü, Aslıhan Buğa, Berfin Besna Can, Deniz Tepe, Doruk Efe Kocaman, Efe Kılınçkıran, Elif Arslan, Elif Berra Demir, Emine Esma Temizer, Fatih Sürücü, Fethi Berk Sezer, Hamza Burak Ceylan, Kadir Kağan Şahin, Muaz Hazar, Muhammed Gökay Lokman, Rahmet Kaan Ceylan, Roza Dicle Yiğit, Selman Ergin, Tuana Gülpınar, Tuna Kara, Tuna Macif, Türker Yer, Yağız Akbulut, Yağız Kaan Tezcan, Yusuf Kağan Değermenci, Yusuf Tuğrul Altıntaş, Zeynep Mina Oruç, and Zeynep Su Karavar were among the top 1000.
As a result of the ranks achieved within the scope of project competitions, Elif Berra Demir, Furkan Sakin, Gülsen Ece Özge, Kadir Kağan Şahin, and Ömer Utku Ünal gained additional coefficient rights. Among these graduates, Gülsen Ece Özge and Kadir Kağan Şahin also gained the opportunity to enroll in university without an exam, due to their additional coefficient and successes in international project competitions.
